... to all four CFAR members who were recently elected as Fellows of the American Academy of Microbiology (AAM), the most from any single academic center this year. AAM Fellows are elected through a highly selective, peer-review process based on their record of scientific achievement and original contributions to the field. The new Fellows join other Emoryites including Rafi Ahmed, Dick Compans, Walt Dowdle, Keith Klugman, John McGowan, Charles Moran, June Scott, and William Shafer. Hale Fellows, Well Met!

"In the modern world, misunderstanding easily engenders conflict. Cartoons serve not only as artistic expression, but also as a link between individuals who may not otherwise see the similarities that exist among themselves. Cartooning for Peace-America's inaugural symposium will gather cartoonists from North and South America and Europe, united by the will to share their work and their experiences of peace and health in their communities."
