Happy Birthday

... to Bill Lewis (April 7) and Effie Bartley (April 8)

Cut the cake and let's eat some more ... Happy Birthday to you!

     Aiden Delaney

... A belated Happy Birthday shout out to our newest CFAR member, Aiden Grant Delaney (March 30)! As proud papa Kevin Delaney says: "So between all the MCh students and new parents in the department I feel like we should have gotten stronger advice that the second one comes quicker... But with a little help from Dekalb Paramedics and daddy, Robin sucessfully delivered our 'little' 8 plus pounder at home yesterday, three weeks early. Everyone is a little frazzled but doing great and big sister Payton is now best buddies with the guys from Decatur Fire."

anne Spaulding

... Anne Spaulding just got some more great news. Hard on the heels of her recent two-fer, she just received another grant (~$240,000) for a second year of HIV testing at Fulton County Jail. In the past 12 months they have diagnosed 104 new cases of HIV, none of whom were in the Fulton Co. or GA HIV registries prior to diagnosis at the jail. As Anne says: "The program is very cost-efficient. We are hoping that Fulton County will use their CDC funds to take over HIV screening at the jail but, until that time, these grants have been able to address a needed gap in case finding for our city."
