     CFAR

SERVICES ... EXPERTISE ... MATERIALS ... TRAINING ... SHARED EQUIPMENT... RESEARCH SPACE ... FUNDING...

... CFAR is the complete package. Do YOU take advantage of that?

Last year six CFAR Cores -- Developmental | Prevention Science | Clinical Research | Biostatistics & Biomedical Informatics | Immunology, | Virology & Molecular Biomarkers -- collectively provided assistance to 223 HIV/AIDS investigators at Emory and beyond.

Of those investigators, 6% (n=13) qualified as CFAR "super users," having each used four or more CFAR cores in the conduct of their research.

     Ameeta Kalokhe

2013-2014 CFAR Super Users:
• Used 4 Cores each: Rama Amara, Albert Anderson, Ralph DiClemente,
Rebecca Gary, Lisa Haddad, Eric Hunter, Colleen Kelley, Mirko Paiardini, and
   Kristin Wall.

• Used 5 Cores each: Neela Goswami, Igho Ofotokun, and Guido Silvestri

• Used all 6 Cores: CFAR Superdooper User and new mom Ameeta Kalokhe.

What do Super Users know that you don't?
Register to attend our first annual "CFAR 101" seminar on October 6 (3:00 - 5:30pm) and come find out!!

CFAR 101 will introduce you to our scientific leadership and provide information on the services / expertise / materials / training / shared equipment / research space / and funding available to you through each of our Cores and interdisciplinary research groups.

AND, there will be a poster session displaying a selection of the exciting science that CFAR Cores have supported PLUS food and drinks. What more could you ask for?

Seeking HIV+ men and women who are naturally controlling their virus, in order to study the effects and potential benefit of ART in this population. The study is a prospective, single-arm, open-label study to evaluate the effect of fixed-dose Emtricitabine/Rilpivirine/Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate on T-cell activation, absolute CD4+ T-Cell count, inflammatory biomarkers and viral reservoir in treatment-naïve HIV-1 controllers.
ACTG A5308 Summary Sheet

Phase I/II ACTG Treatment Study Participants Sought: Ponce Clinic
Seeking healthy (Tcells = >300; viral load <50 copies) individuals on ART (that includes a raltegravir, dolutegravir, or efavirenz-based regimen) for inclusion in a double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled, dose-escalation study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a single dose administration of romidepsin (RMD). Toxicity related to the administration of RMD will be evaluated systematically.
ACTG A5315 Summary Sheet

Acute HCV / Recent HCV Reinfection Study Participants Sought: Ponce Clinic
Seeking HIV+ individuals who have had acute HCV infection within the last 6 months or recent re-infection of HCV for a clinical trial of Sofosbuvir Plus Ribavirin Without Interferon For Treatment of Acute HCV in HIV-Infected Individuals ("SWIFT-C").
