Carlos del Rio
Dear friends and colleagues:
On behalf of the Emory CFAR we want to convey our sadness on the passing of Fulton County Commissioner Joan Gardner. Joan was an amazing person and a passionate advocate for LGBT and people with and at risk for HIV.

Alarmed by the high rates of HIV in Fulton County, Joan worked closely with Fulton County Chairman John Eaves to create the Fulton County HIV/AIDS Task Force in December, 2014; bringing together community, government and academic institutions to create a strategy to End AIDS in Fulton County.

We will all miss her and to honor her legacy we should continue to work together to End AIDS.

It is possible!

Carlos
