The Emory Medical School Department of Medicine recently held their 2019-2020 "Celebration of Faculty Honors and Awards" and THREE of CFARs leaders were honored.

Igho Ofotokun (Co-Director, CFAR Clinical Research Core): The R. Wayne Alexander Excellence in Research Award is the highest award for research excellence bestowed by the Department of Medicine. It recognizes significant contributions to medical knowledge realized through a body of research that cover an individual's entire career in either Basic Research or Clinical and Translational Research.

Colleen Kelley (Associate Director, CFAR Clinical Research Core): Pears, alone among fruit, don't ripen until they leave the tree and the Shanthi V. Sitaraman Silver Pear Mentoring Award - Research honors faculty who possess the enormous commitment and gift for mentoring required to help early career faculty ripen into world class scientists.

Carlos del Rio (CFAR PI and Co-Director): The Nanette K. Wenger Distinguished Service Award - Professor recognizes School of Medicine faculty who have demonstrated outstanding service and citizenship to the Department of Medicine including service to the community via public education programs or campaigns and exemplary service to underserved populations. Sound like anyone we know?

Three Cheers for Three CFAR Leaders!
