Exciting News....

    Aditi Ramakrishnan     Maddie Goldstein

Under the supervision of PI Anandi Sheth, SOM/Pediatrics Infectious Disease Fellow Maddie Goldstein and SOM/Medicine Infectious Disease Fellow Aditi Ramakrishnan have just received NIH clearance to begin the CFAR-funded part of a research study of "Perinatal HIV Care during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Implementing Mobile Healthcare to Close the Gap."

In order to optimize care for women living with HIV and their infants during the C19 pandemic, the Grady IDP HIV/obstetric program (IDP/OB) has spent the pandemic providing multidisciplinary home visits facilitated by the Grady Mobile Integrated Health unit (MIH).

Aditi and Maddie's study will: 1. Compare HIV and obstetric outcomes among pregnant WWH before and after MIH-IDP/OB program implementation. 2. Compare health outcomes of infants born to WWH before and after MIH-IDP/OB program implementation 3. Assess implementation, feasibility, and acceptability of the MIH-IDP/OB initiative to pregnant WWH and staff participants in the MIH-IDP/OB program.

Funding for the study is being shared between the CFAR and the Emory SOM.

Congratulations Maddie and Aditi!

Government News... Let's Stop HIV Together

   Demetre Daskalakis

"As one of my first acts as the new director of CDC's Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention (DHAP), I am thrilled to have the honor of unveiling the newest prevention resources from the Let's Stop HIV Together (Together) campaign. These materials represent an important expansion of the campaign's prevention resources and are designed for all who can benefit from HIV prevention information. The new materials are built around a status neutral theme: Whatever your HIV status, there are options to prevent HIV. Know your options and choose what's best for you."

Best,
Demetre Daskalakis, MD, MPH
Director, Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention, CDC
